APTOS FOUNDATION JOINS HAWAII BLOCKCHAIN SUMMIT AS TITLE SPONSOR
HONOLULU — The inaugural Hawaii Blockchain Summit on September 16 is excited to welcome Aptos Foundation as the main sponsor of the event. Aptos Foundation, whose mission is to support the growth of the Aptos blockchain and ecosystem, is making its move to advance the development of the blockchain ecosystem in Hawaii.
Aptos is a next-generation Layer 1 blockchain. Launched on Mainnet in October 2022, Aptos' breakthrough technology and programming language, Move, are designed to evolve, improve performance and strengthen user safeguards.
Key leaders within the organization have roots in Hawaii.
“We are proud to sponsor the Hawaii Blockchain Summit,” said Avery Ching, chief technology officer and co-founder of Aptos Labs. “Being born and raised in Hawaii, this event gives me an opportunity to give back to the Web3 community in this state and contribute to the adoption of blockchain technology using Aptos. I look forward to sharing insights and helping drive the future of blockchain in the Aloha State.” Prior to co-founding Aptos, Ching led teams at Meta across general blockchain development as well as ecosystems, wallet infrastructure, strategy and most notably, the Diem blockchain. He will be the guest for the summit’s fireside chat.
Michael Ching, head of treasury and operations for Aptos Foundation, is also from Hawaii. He and his team support the growth of the Aptos blockchain and drive engagement within the Aptos ecosystem. Prior to joining Aptos, Ching held various leadership roles at Bank of Hawaii. “We are honored to be a part of the first blockchain summit in Hawaii and this is just the beginning of Aptos’ engagement with the Web3 community locally. I look forward to meeting Web3 builders, learning about their projects and ascertaining how Aptos can make an impact locally.” Ching will be a speaker at the summit’s “The Future is Web3” panel.
“With Aptos’ strong connection to the islands through its leadership, I am thrilled to receive their support to make the first Hawaii Blockchain Summit an exceptional event, bringing together Web3 thought leaders, innovators, and enthusiasts from all over the state and nationally,” shared Ellen Ng, founder of Inoa, the lead organizer for the event.
The Hawaii Blockchain Summit will be held on Monday, September 16 at BSIDE Lounge + Venue. To register for the event, visit https://www.inoa.ai/hawaiiblockchainsummit.
