INAUGURAL HAWAII BLOCKCHAIN SUMMIT KICKS OFF IN SEPTEMBER
Expert panels set to illuminate blockchain and Web3 innovations
HONOLULU – The first-ever Hawaii Blockchain Summit is set to make waves within Hawaii’s digital landscape this year on September 16 at The BSIDE Lounge + Venue, taking place during Honolulu Tech Week. This groundbreaking event will bring together pioneering minds from Hawaii’s local tech sector as well as experts from all over the U.S. to explore the latest advancements in blockchain and Web3 technology. The summit’s cutting-edge discussions led by industry experts and entrepreneurs, along with networking opportunities aim to yield significant discussions on charting new horizons for the future of blockchain technology implementation in the Aloha State and beyond.
Strong support has also been demonstrated with sponsorships from Coinsub, Hack Right, The Brandy Camacho Show, Blockchain Billiards, Hawaii Technology Development Corporation and Tapiki.
“Innovation takes place when people come together. Through this summit, we are creating the groundwork to build a strong community of blockchain professionals, showcase Hawaii’s blockchain projects, and inspire more participation in Web3,” said Ellen Ng, founder of Inoa – lead organizer for the summit. With support from U.S. mainland co-hosts Navi AI and Key to Web3, awareness about the event has extended beyond the shores of Hawaii, with speakers flying in to participate.
The sentiment is echoed by sponsor, Brandy Camacho, Hawaii-based founder of HackRight and a tech veteran. “The summit is timely because we need to raise awareness about Web3 locally to ensure that Hawaii is and can be an active participant in the creation of this new technical infrastructure built using blockchain technology.”
Blockchain technology enables a secure, digital way to verify and record transactions across a decentralized network of computers, making it nearly impossible to alter data or cheat the system. It improves trust, efficiency and has the potential to transform many areas of business and everyday life, including the supply chain, traditional financial systems, real estate and even the military.
Web3, built using blockchain technology, is the next generation of the internet that focuses on decentralization and autonomy, giving users ownership of their data and control over online interactions.
Summit sponsor Dr. Linda Goto, local founder of Blockchain Billiards and tokenomics practitioner, is bullish about DAOs, sharing that “decentralized autonomous organizations is a mechanism built using blockchain technology to enable global transparency and accountability in decision-making – it is a tool for virtual democracy.”
Early bird registration is available online for discounted summit tickets at https://www.inoa.ai/hawaiiblockchainsummit. After August 30, ticket prices will increase. Interested participants flying to Hawaii from the mainland will also receive a discount code from Alaska Airlines, one of the event’s supporters.
